Len Hansen is unique among travel writers and editors because he brings to the craft major experience in tourism as well as an award-winning career in journalism. He has served as counsel on tourism to Governors Dan Evans in Washington and Wally Hickel in Alaska), corporate vice president for marketing for Sea World., promotion and public relations manager for the Seattle Center, and broadcast promotion manager for the Seattle World’s Fair. Governor Hickel appointed Len chairman of the Alaska Business Council, a volunteer position, to identify and increase tourism successfully to the state. In travel Len has explored almost every state in the nation, more than half of Canada and Mexico, much of the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, and Western Europe, and in each of these areas he can be considered expert in writing destination features.
